When we moved to this house summer 2004 we once again wanted to have all the cats around us in the garden so we have secured the garden - this we have done by using ordinary garden fence out of metal (height 180 cm.) and wooden fence, (also 180 cm.). On the top of the fence we have an electric wire - all the way around, to keep our cats inside and others outside. We have used the mildest electric power supplier - specially made for dogs and cats.

The  fenced-in garden is 1100 squaremeters - 150 squaremeters for the boys and 950 squaremeters for us, the girls, neuters and dogs, so there should be plenty of space for the cats to enjoy themselves, when they are allowed outside - so far we will not have them running outside at all times, maybe it will come in time, but for now they will have to settle with us letting them out from time to time :-) and we will have to settle with them being very addicted ... also in bad weather :-)

The hedge grows through the wirefence and hides it almost completely

The boys' area

We prefer having close everyday connection with the boys, therefore their area is placed within the garden, so it's easily accessed for us and the boys have contact with both girls and neuters through the fence. We believe it's more social this way...and the boys? They seem to love it - having a secured run - 150 squaremeters :-)
